Popular options include Viva Fresh, Maxi, Vipros, Golden Market, and other local convenience stores. Most accept card payments, though carrying some cash is still recommended.

Wolt Delivery

For food, groceries, and restaurant delivery, the Wolt app is widely used in Prishtina and covers most local restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and supermarkets.

Royal Mall

A short distance from most apartments. Includes supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, shops and everyday services.

Getting Around

Prishtina is relatively compact and easy to explore. Most areas — including Germia, the city center and the airport area — are reachable by taxi, car or public transport. All Sunny Hill Apartments locations are well connected to the main parts of the city.

Use the Trafiku Urban app (Android & iOS) for real-time routes, schedules and stations.

Taxi

Affordable and easy to use. We recommend E-Taxi — estimate fares, order, schedule and track rides via the app.

A public bicycle system with multiple stations around the city.

Airport

Prishtina International Airport is approximately 20–30 minutes away.

  • • Taxi — approximately €12–€20 depending on traffic and time of day

Schedules and pricing may change depending on season, traffic and operator updates.

Mobile Internet & SIM

Local SIM cards are available at the airport and in Vala or IPKO shops across the city.

Typical packages usually range between €5 and €10 and may include mobile data, local minutes and internet packages.

Both Vala and IPKO offer physical SIM cards as well as eSIM support depending on your phone compatibility.

Currency is the Euro (€). Cards are accepted in most places. Withdrawing cash with a foreign card at ATMs typically costs around €5 depending on the bank.

Albanian is the local language; English is widely spoken in cafés, restaurants and shops. European plugs (Type C & F), 230V.

Drinking Water

Tap water in Prishtina is generally safe to drink. Bottled water is also widely available in supermarkets and convenience stores.

Weather

Summers are usually hot and sunny; winters can be cold with occasional snow. Spring and autumn are mild and comfortable for walking.

Prishtina is generally a safe city for visitors, including during evening hours in central areas. Most apartments are in quiet residential neighborhoods.

Walking & Café Culture

Prishtina is generally very walkable, and cafés are an important part of local life. Sundays are quieter, but most cafés and restaurants stay open.

Traffic & Payments

Traffic can be heavier around the center during busy hours. Most cafés, restaurants, supermarkets and taxis accept cards, but small businesses may prefer cash.

Electricity

Short electricity interruptions can occasionally happen during busy seasons, but they are usually resolved quickly.

Important Travel Note About Serbia Border Crossings

Travelers entering Kosovo from Albania or North Macedonia may sometimes face entry restrictions when crossing directly into Serbia. Those who first entered the region via Serbia usually have no issue.

Rules can change — please confirm with official border authorities before traveling.

Outdoor Activities

Weekend Hiking Communities

Kosovo has several active hiking communities that organize weekend hiking trips, mountain adventures and outdoor activities across the country.

We are sharing only a few examples here. Many other groups can also be found on Instagram and Facebook. Most activities run on weekends, but you may also contact organizers directly for private or custom trips.

Karting Near Prishtina

If you would like to try outdoor karting near Prishtina, there are several tracks located around the city. Prices usually range between €10 and €25 depending on session duration.

There is also an indoor karting experience located inside Prishtina Mall.

Tennis & Padel

Public tennis courts are available at Taukbahçe during daytime hours and visitors can usually use them freely if available. During evenings, courts are often reserved by local clubs.

Padel has also become very popular in Prishtina and reservations are usually required in advance.

Morning Running Communities

Germia Park is one of the most popular places for running and outdoor activities in Prishtina. Several local running communities regularly organize morning and group runs throughout the week.

We are sharing only a few examples here. Additional running groups and events can also be found through Facebook and Instagram.

Via Ferrata & Zip Line Adventures

Kosovo has become increasingly popular for Via Ferrata climbing experiences and mountain adventures. The most well known Via Ferrata routes are located near Peja, where visitors can find multiple difficulty levels and also try zip line experiences.

Additional Via Ferrata routes are also available in Deçan and Prizren.
